Singapore | Hike & explore the amazing Southern Ridges
Southern Ridges. little did we know that one of the best walks takes your right out of the city into lush green parks and elevated walkways.
The gardens by the bay was one of the best things we did in Singapore. For information on how we got to Singapore and the other things we got up to you can visit that story here. So let me tell you more about the Gardens. There’s so much to see here and a place you have to visit if you’re in Singapore.
The Gardens by the Bay is a city park within the Marina Bay Area of downtown Singapore. The park comprises of three waterfront gardens: Bay South Garden, Bay East Garden and Bay Central Garden. The largest of the gardens is the Bay South Garden . Its Flower Dome is the largest glass greenhouse in the world and has the famous cloud garden which is incredible.
Singapore has some fantastic accommodation options all over the city from spectacular five star hotels to small bed and breakfasts and hostels. So it should be quite easy to find somewhere suitable. If you are struggling try this link Here for some inspiration.
The easiest way to get to the gardens is via the MRT you can get off at Bayfront Station, you can get there via Tanjong Pagar Station but this would involve catching a bus so I would use the first option if you can. You can drive and park if you have hired a car, your sat nav will get you there.
In the biggest greenhouse in the world the Flower Dome showcases plants from around the globe in 5 spectacular gardens.
A mist filled treetop walk with ferns and fauna from the mountain regions of the world and a 30mtr drop waterfall that is just superb.
Around 40 art sculptures are dotted around the park adding a new dimension to the landscape.
There are 12 super trees here in the park and for an additional fee you can get right to the top of one to the observatory.
There are vast outdoor gardens with lawns, pavilions, walkways and green open spaces for you to enjoy.
The park is full of birds, dragon flies and other aquatic life. See what you can spot.
You can purchase a timed-entry ticket online or through the gardens mobil app (just search your App Store). You can buy different tickets to see different combinations of the park.
It is advisable to pre-book your tickets however tickets for special attractions within the site such as the Supertree Observatory or any other exhibitions can be purchased on the day of your visit from a self serve kiosk at the entrance.
We have always tended to use Booking.com having said that if your on a tight budget another good site to try as a comparison is Hostelworld, If your looking to compare different sites you can do that on Hotellook, we tend to look on here first to make sure we are getting the best deal.
You can book your visits as you go at the entrance to your chosen attraction or site. Or you could use the following links to book in advance or just to find out what your choices are in the area. GetYourGuide and Tiqets are our go to choices you could try Viator to see how they compare.
