France

Our next door neighbour, France is a beautiful country with many regions to explore.  We have been to France a number of times as a couple and Lynne lived here for over a year in her younger days.  Having said that mostly we were just passing through or on a day trip so didn’t really think about writing a post.

On the other hand Paris was a longer visit, for a long weekend and we had such a good time.  It’s a beautiful city to explore with a vibrant culture and many world renowned Galleries and museums.  We visited  some of the highlights such as the Eiffel tower, Musée de l’Orangerie which displays Claude Monet famous water lilies among other great works.

The cemetery yard at Père Lachaise where many famous people are resting in peace is a great place to slow down and amble through the park noting the many well known name on the headstones.  No trip to Paris can be complete without a Bateau Mouche trip on the seine.  Its one of those touristy things you can miss but then afterwards wonder why you did it.  Its a great way to get from one part of the city to another whilst taking in the sights.
